THE MATH BEHIND YOUR BLEND
How to calculate ingredient cost per stick.
Ingredient cost per stick = material grams per stick ÷ 1,000 × price per kilogram. Do that for each material, then add the results.
Start with the complete serving: active ingredients, flavor system, sweeteners and supporting components. A longer ingredient list is not automatically more expensive. The exact material, amount and purchasing requirements make the difference.
- Set the production run.Name each blend or SKU and enter its total sticks and complete serving weight.
- Build shared ingredients.Add an ingredient once. Assign the SKUs using it and override amounts where needed.
- Compare exact materials.Review the grade, source, price date, pack sizes, MOQ, freight basis and lead time.
- Separate use from purchase.Check per-stick consumption, purchasing cash, leftovers and what still needs a quote.

Material identity
Check the chemical form, grade, assay, carrier and manufacturer when relevant. Creatine monohydrate, branded creatine and different mesh specifications should not be silently treated as interchangeable.
Pack size & MOQ
A 25 kg drum describes a pack. It does not prove the supplier will sell one drum. Confirm order minimums, increments and minimum dollar values. Unknown pack requirements stay unquoted.
Price basis & date
Compare like quantities and currencies. A historical bulk price, an exact-quantity quotation and an online small-pack price are different references. The tool labels restrictions and blocks calculations it cannot support.
Availability & landed cost
Confirm stock, preparation time, transit, freight, import costs and documentation. A dated stock note is not a reservation, and a product listing does not establish fitness for your formula.

Ingredient budgeting, explained.
How do I calculate ingredient cost per stick?
Multiply the material grams in one stick by its price per kilogram, then divide by 1,000. Add that contribution for every ingredient, including flavors, sweeteners and processing aids. The planner also shows each SKU separately and the quantity-weighted average for the whole run. Unpriced ingredients remain missing costs, not free ingredients.
Can I use one ingredient across multiple flavors?
Yes. Set the production quantity for each SKU first, add the exact ingredient once, and assign it to all SKUs or selected SKUs. Use a per-SKU override when the amount differs. Demand is combined before pack and MOQ calculations when the exact material and selected supplier offer match. Different forms, grades or supplier offers remain separate.
What is the difference between recipe cost and purchase spend?
Recipe cost values the material consumed in the planned sticks. Purchase spend reflects the packs and minimums you may need to buy, which can leave inventory. Freight, duties, tax, minimum order values and any unquoted requirements can add to that spend. Neither number includes manufacturing or packaging.
Are these live supplier quotes?
No. Each reference shows its source basis and evidence date. Public listings and any dated supplier references are planning inputs, not current quotations or reserved stock. Confirm price, exact specification, pack availability, MOQ, lead time and delivery terms directly before purchasing. A missing lead time is unknown, not immediate delivery.
Can I plan electrolytes, sports nutrition, wellness or flavor systems?
The library groups materials by product type and ingredient function, including electrolytes, sports nutrition, wellness, women’s health, vitamins, flavors and processing aids. These are browsing categories, not recommended formulas or health claims. Add your own ingredient and price assumption when the exact material is not listed.
Does the amount mean active dose or material weight?
Enter the weight of the actual material you will buy. An active dose, an elemental mineral amount and the weight of an ingredient compound may differ. The tool does not automatically adjust for assay, potency, carriers or concentration. Confirm those calculations and your complete formula with your formulation team.
Can StickPax source the ingredients for me?
Ingredient and flavor sourcing is available by separate quote at 25,000 total sticks or more, subject to formula and supplier review. Below 25,000, you supply all production ingredients and flavors. Does downloading the plan send my formula to StickPax?
No. Calculations and PDF generation happen in your browser. Save on this device only if you want a local copy, or export a project file. You decide whether to attach the PDF to an email. Downloading does not send an inquiry, reserve ingredients or place an order.
