PACKAGING THAT IS READY TO RUN

Stick Pack Film, Artwork & Retail Packaging Checklist

Artwork is a start. Production-ready packaging is the goal.

A great-looking stick matters. So does the material, the size and the way it runs. Get those pieces aligned before you place the packaging order.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Production-ready stick packaging requires approved dimensions and film construction, suitable artwork, quantity and SKU planning, and a defined retail packout. A design file alone does not confirm that the packaging is suitable for the formula or filling equipment.

Start with the powder and serving size.

The same number of grams can occupy different volumes in different powders. That affects the stick dimensions and whether the intended fill is practical. Moisture sensitivity and product needs also inform film selection.

Share the formula or blend details and intended fill weight before finalizing a dieline. Do not use a competitor’s package size as proof that your powder will fit.

Confirm the film specification before buying.

Ask what construction, dimensions and production requirements are needed for review. A printer’s attractive quote does not establish compatibility with the intended filling process.

Customer-supplied film should be reviewed before purchase. If StickPax supplies packaging, the calculator amount is an allowance with a 10% buffer, not a final material order based on approved artwork and specifications.

Treat artwork approval as its own milestone.

Keep one controlled file for each SKU. Make flavor names, versions and approvals easy to distinguish. Ensure whoever is responsible for label content has completed that review before printing.

Artwork layout review is not a guarantee of regulatory compliance. Confirm the appropriate product identity, facts panel and claims with qualified support for your product. We do not treat an attractive design as a completed compliance review.

  • Confirm the current dieline and supplier print requirements.
  • Keep each flavor’s file and approval clearly identified.
  • Check small text, barcodes and production-code space in the actual layout.
  • Agree who approves the final production proof.

Define what happens after the stick is filled.

Loose sticks, retail pouches and cartons create different material and handling scopes. State the number of sticks per retail pack and the number of SKUs.

Check pack quantities per flavor rather than only across the order. Remainders and mixed-flavor assortments need instructions. A packaging allowance is only as useful as the packout assumptions behind it.

Keep the material handoff simple.

Before a run, line up the approved files, specifications, material quantities and delivery responsibilities. If a detail changes, have it reviewed before the replacement is purchased or shipped.

A small packaging change can touch several workstreams. Raising it early is much easier than discovering that the finished film does not match the agreed plan.
