In the StickPax calculator, quantity is the total number of sticks across all selected SKUs. The first SKU is included; each additional SKU adds $400. Standard online estimates start at 7,500 total sticks, while smaller runs need a custom review.
Total order quantity and SKU quantity are different.
At 10,000 total sticks and two equally split flavors, you have 5,000 sticks of each flavor. Selecting two SKUs does not double the run. Unequal splits are possible to discuss, but the exact quantities need to be listed.
That split matters for ingredient planning, printed film and retail packs. A total order that looks straightforward can still have a very small individual flavor run. The quote needs a review of that detail.
Translate the order into something you actually sell.
If those 5,000 sticks per flavor go into 30-stick pouches, each flavor makes 166 full pouches with 20 sticks left over. You need a decision about the remainder. Combining the two flavors into one arithmetic total can hide that packout question.
The calculator uses an allowance for the total retail-pack quantity. Final SKU-level pack counts and any partial packs are confirmed separately. Do not assume every leftover stick becomes a full retail unit.
A flavor fee and flavor development are different.
The $400 charge for each SKU after the first is an additional-SKU production charge. It does not mean a new formula or sensory development program is included.
If two flavors need separate development or powder evaluations, ask for that scope. Selected website formulation and analysis allowances each cover one formula or blend.
Compare the next tier without losing sight of cash.
Volume pricing starts above 25,000 sticks. It can create a substantial reduction in tolling cost per stick, and sometimes a lower tolling total at 30,000 than at 25,000. The actual comparison depends on fill weight.
More sticks also require more materials and create more inventory. Compare the full project budget and expected sell-through alongside the unit price. A lower manufacturing rate does not erase ingredient or packaging costs.
